RUELAS FULFILLMENT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
My name is Fabiola Moreno Ruelas and growing up in the small town of Gonzales, California taught me the importance of giving back. In 2018, when I was 18 years old and starting my journey as a first-generation student at San Diego State University, I received money from a car accident settlement. I immediately knew I wanted to use it to start a scholarship fund for young students in the Gonzales community.
Being the first one in my family to apply, attend and graduate from a four-year university, I know firsthand that education can transform your life and expose you to endless opportunities. Through the Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation's Scholarships, I am able to fill the financial gaps that arise for others when pursuing education after high school.
The Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation is a fund of the Community Foundation for Monterey County, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. Please keep your receipt as your official record. We'll email it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation Scholarships, A Timeline:
➔ 2018, Foundation started when Fabiola Moreno Ruelas was 18 years old
➔ 2019, raised $13,000 in donations received by the Gonzales community and people throughout California
➔ 2020, created the Undocumented Scholarship: Education without Borders with two San Diego State University students awarded $1,000 each
➔ 2022, Fabiola graduates, “California’s Most Unlikely Philanthropist”
➔ 2024, Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation turns 6 years! and more than 15 students awarded from Gonzales High School. “A Passion for Giving Back”
➔ 2024, Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation featured on PBS Brief but Spectacular
➔ 2024, Fabiola Moreno Ruelas/Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation is awarded the Outstanding Philanthropic Young Adult of the Year Award by the National Philanthropy Day for the Central Coast
➔ 2024, Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation joins the Community Foundation for Monterey County's Family of over 700 Funds
As of 2024, 20 Gonzales High School students have been awarded $10,000 in scholarships and the Ruelas Fulfillment Foundation has fundraised more than $20,000.
